8.30 am Friday 20th August. The High Tide Times at Lifford Bridge is 7.13 am and is 1.9 meters high and 19.22 pm and is 2.2 meters high. Tomorrow’s tides are 1.39 am and is 0.8 meters high and 8.02 pm and is 2.0 meters high. The Mourne has dropped a lot from last night. It is in good spinning orderb but coloured. The weather here is from light drizzle to heavy at times since seven o’clock, so the river might change later. 9.30 am The weather seems to be clearing now, but very blustery. 11.00 am A report of a 16lb fish caught in Rogans Hole on a flying C’s. Another caught at the Cricket Pitch on the Fly 6lb and Garry Wolf caught a 6lb fish in the Gravenue spinning all fresh fish.

The River Mourne is still in good order for all methods of fishing although it is on the low side. Plenty of fish but most are not interested in the hook, you know the same old story.

Charity Competition 2010.
Our Annual Charity Fishing Competition we had scheduled for Sat. 21st August 2010 has to be put off until further notice.
We normally hold the Competition each and every year on the first sat, in June, to suit the different schools, but this year we delayed it because of very low water conditions to the 21th Aug.
Unfortunately, due to serious bank erosion at the Weir we have to defer, until the river bank is made safe.
We will keep you updated on this situation as we are in consolations with the relevant bodies that are taking care of it.

The river is in better order now and good for all types of fishing. We seen a fly fisherman out in the Bigh and I Salmon seen hanging on the oak tree in the Bigh, it looked like a good size fish. Email from G Hamilton, Geoff seen a serious amount of fish going over the Carry on Sat. the river was very dirty but he decided to fish anyway. Hook her in the Long Streams 11/12lb Returned her and hooked one in the Gravenue and lost her at his feet, and hooked another 8lb had to keep her. Went to Victoria hooked two and lost them. Went to Paddies He was ready to home when he hooked another and lost her. So he hooked six fish, landed two and kept one.

Andrew Murphy a trout fisherman from Armagh has caught his first ever Salmon a nice 8lb fish. He caught it in Quinn Side, he is now returning to try again.

The high tides are making a few fish move into the river but the angler can't get them intrested.
We only heard of one fish caught but no details.

The Mourne is in great order for fly fishing to-day. Plenty of anglers out but the only success reported was at Paddies Stream T Farrell with a nice 5lb fish and another man with a fish around the same size both returned with care.

Last night there was a nice 16 lb fresh fish caught in the Gravenue, the last throw of the evening for a man from Fintona.
To-day in Liskey a 8.2/ lb. fish caught on the red shrimp fly. Still fresh fish coming into the system although there are some fish getting coloured now.

We have now orginized the event for Sat. 12th Sept. 09. all are welcome.

The river is producing alot of fish to-day all over the river. Jamie Stewart - Waterside got a nice 13 lb Salmon in Pollys Bigh spinning. Another fisherman got 9 lb salmon in the Hospital Pool Spinning. T.M. got 9lb & 4 lb in the Gravenue on the fly. Another fisherman got 4lb on the fly in the Gravenue. Fish Catch Report 6 salmon caught Terry Morrison Derry Caught a 5ln & 3lb Salmon. Stephen Marriott Strabane caught the heaviest of the day a 7lb salmon at Camus Bridge on a bubble & fly.

Jennifer Gillespie from Augher the first women this year, to catch a 41/2lb Salmon in the Gravenue with a red Fc's.
Yesterday grand total so far is 12 salmon and 1 Sea Trout OF 2lb.
